The course is broken down into 8 sections:
Section 1: C.F.R. (Cardiac First Responder) attendance at the first day of the course is not a mandatory
requirement for those that hold a valid C.F.R. certificate.
Section 2: Airway Management.
Section 3: Patient Assesment, Communications and Documentation.
Section 4: Circulation and CPR.
Section 5: Illness and Injury, this includes; medical emergencies, poison and substance abuse, diabetic
emergencies, behavioural emergencies, bleeding, shock, soft tissue injuries and muscle and bone injuries.
Section 6: Childbirth, Paediatric emergencies, Geriatric emergencies and patients with altered mental states.
Section 7: EMS operations, including preparing for a call and guidelines followed to respond to such calls.
Section 8: Special rescue and supplemental skills such as blood pressure check, spinal mobilisation and oxygen
administration.
Course available over 6 days or 2 weekends.
Throughout the duration of this course practical classes and examinations will take place. This course is really the recommended starting point to develop your career in the healthcare industry, be it in the public or private sector.
