Patient Handling Instructor
The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively design and deliver people handling instruction in the workplace.

What's Involved
Participants who have completed this course will be able to, Recognise a load, which is too heavy or awkward. Understand the limitations of the spine and muscular system Lift and handle loads safely (both inanimate and animate)

- Log rolling
- Sitting patient up in bed
- Turning patient in bed using sliding sheets
- Moving patient up the bed using sliding sheets
- Sitting Patient to edge of bed
- Standing patient
- Transferring patient from bed to chair
- The falling patient
- Correct use of hoist slings
